Jody’s Jam of the Week: Capital Bacon & Beer Bash

Just a heads up, now would be the perfect time to refill your Lipitor prescription. This Saturday, in an event of epic proportions, two things I love unconditionally will come together in the ultimate display of swine and booze when the Capital Bacon & Beer Bash takes over National Harbor.

The second annual event from Heavy Seas combines over 10 beers with special bacon dishes from more than 10 D.C.-area restaurants (last year there was bacon ice cream, bacon candy, bacon popcorn, bacon carbonara just to name a few). In addition, there will be bourbon bacon, jalapeño bacon, maple bacon, pepper bacon, honey bbq bacon, apple cinnamon bacon, duck bacon, cottage bacon, juniper bacon, Applewood smoked bacon and so much more. It’s like if Bubba ditched the shrimp and was all about the pig.

There’s two sessions, but tickets are going with the quickness, so if you’re feeling pork-y this weekend, get yours ASAP.

When: Saturday, Novembe 19, Noon – 4 p.m.; 5 – 9 p.m.
