Mustang Volleyball Team Falls in District Semi-Finals

The George Mason High School varsity volleyball team lost tonight to Madison County High School 3-0 in the Bull Run District semi-final game.

After losing in 21-25 and 12-25 games, the team was up nine points late in its third game, but couldn’t overcome Madison. They were knocked out of the district tournament with a 23-25 final game.

“We struggled with our serve receive and couldn’t seem to generate much offense despite the close game,” Coach Erik Healey said. “We did play scrappy defense and continued to serve the ball well. We still have a hard time closing out tough games.”

While their district tournament play has come to an end this year, the team will still move on to the regional tournament Tuesday.
