Community members can once again nominate an exemplary educator for the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.

Nominations are open through Jan. 13. All nominees will be recognized at a community reception in May 2012.

The annual award, presented by the Washington Post Company Educational Foundation to a teacher in each Northern Virginia school system, recognizes winners with a $3,000 cash award.

Nomination forms are available online at fccps.org/agnesmeyer and by request from the Falls Church City Public Schools central office at 703-248-5600.

Last year, George Mason High School’s Suzanne Planas, a Spanish teacher, was honored with the award.
