Children’s Author Visits Congressional Schools of Va.

Marc Tyler Nobleman, cartoonist and author of more than 70 children’s books, visited students at The Congressional Schools of Virginia in Falls Church on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Nobleman spoke with the students about how he built his career as an author and provided background details about several of his books.

Nobleman’s book, Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman, has appeared on the cover of USA Today and has appeared on several “best of the year” lists. Nobleman has written extensively for Nickelodeon and has had cartoons published in over 100 magazines including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Goodhousekeeping.

During his visit, the students at Congressional School brainstormed ideas for cartoon characters including a mythical creature, a “dynobunny” and an “alien accountant.” Nobleman sketched the students’ concepts as they watched and donated the signed sketches to the school.
