‘Nevermore’ Wins Helen Hayes Recommendation

Principles at Falls Church’s Creative Cauldron were notified last week that its just-completed production of Matt Conner’s “Nevermore” has received a Helen Hayes Award Recommendation from judges attending a performance.

The musical about the life of Edgar Allen Poe was performed at Falls Church’s ArtSpace under auspices of Creative Cauldron, and the run ended last weekend with a “Dead Poets Gala” involving leading community supporters of the Cauldron. The Helen Hayes Awards honor outstanding stage efforts in the D.C. area every year, and no formal nominations have yet been announced for next year’s. The Cauldron’s “Poe Project” continues at the ArtSpace, 400 S. Maple, through Nov. 20 with daily peformances of the kid-friendly “Eddie Allen Poe.”
