Fairfax Co. School Teachers to Display Art in Exhibition

The fourth annual Artist Teacher Exhibition, featuring works by art teachers in Fairfax County Public Schools, will be on display at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College from Monday, Oct. 31, through Saturday, Dec. 3.

A reception is planned for Thursday, Nov. 10, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center on the NVCC campus.

For many years, FCPS has sought candidates who are not only great art teachers but also excellent artists. Today there are more than 350 art teachers in FCPS, many of whom continue to create art while sharing their expertise with students. Thirty artist-teachers, represented by 46 artworks, will be featured in the exhibition. The works were selected from over 200 submissions by juror Joanne Bauer, curator at Greater Reston Arts Center.
