The students have been learning about local government in their Civics classes, and as a culminating activity, the mayor visited the school. Students learned background information about the mayor, his major responsibilities and how he balances his full-time job and mayor obligations. He also shared how students can take an active role in the community. At the end, students asked the mayor questions including what he enjoys most and least about his job as mayor.
