F.C. Patient Advocate Releases Book on Brother’s Death

It took Jo Hamilton 27 years to put the tragic loss of her brother, Scott, down on paper.

Scott Hamilton, an Iowa farm boy awaiting a shot at a minor league baseball pitching career, died because his parents could not convince doctors and nurses in a world-renowned hospital that he was near death.

In For the Love of Scott!, the author recollects the tale.

Since her brother’s tragic experience, the author has reentered the medical field from a different perspective and she continues to research ways to help prevent errors in our health care system.

To help further her goals, Jo Hamilton will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her book to the 1984 Olympic gold medal winner Scott Hamilton’s foundation, The Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative. It was created to help with cancer research, support cancer patients and their families, and find a cure for cancer.
