This week my office launched a newly designed website to serve as a better resource for 8th District residents.
At www.moran.house.gov, you can learn about my positions on current legislation, keep up-to-date on events in Northern Virginia, provide feedback on the issues you care about and receive help on navigating the federal bureaucracy.
I hope you will take a few moments to visit my updated website. It features a media resource center with the latest news on congressional actions; access to legislation I have proposed; and resources for seniors, veterans, and children.
Additionally, the site contains more information on ways my office can assist you in navigating the Federal Government on a host of casework issues. When the bureaucratic process is confusing or taking too long, my office has a dedicated team of constituent caseworkers that can help expedite the process.
Northern Virginia is home to more than 12,000 military retirees, and my office is available to assist these brave men and women with many services, from recovering copies of military records to receiving VA or TRICARE benefits earned for their service.
My staff is also able to help residents overcome any problems they may face in receiving their benefits from agencies like the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Medicare. They stand ready to guide those along the path to citizenship, using their contacts within the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) to expedite delayed VISAs and green cards.
Younger residents will find opportunities on my website to participate in programs designed for their benefit. Whether applying for a nomination to one of the nation’s military service academies, participating in the annual Congressional Art Competition, or getting information on federal student financial aid programs, it’s all available at www.moran.house.gov.
As your Representative in Congress, there have been countless changes in the way we communicate in just the last few years. Email and social media tools now make it easier for us to communicate, and more importantly, for you to get in touch with my office. Understanding that different people get their information from a variety of sources, my office is plugged into the latest social media outlets. I encourage you to follow me in any of the following mediums:
Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RepJimMoran) updated almost daily with the latest news on my congressional work.
Flickr page (https://www.flickr.com/photos/repjimmoran/) contains photo galleries of recent events around Northern Virginia and on Capitol Hill.
YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/RepJamesPMoran) features the latest videos of my floor speeches and special messages.
Twitter page (https://twitter.com/Jim_Moran) has up to the minute information on my congressional activities.
I am honored to represent you in Congress. As your Congressman, my staff and I are here to serve you. I hope that my newly designed website will make it easier to access information on the services my office offers.
