Jody’s Jam of the Week: Taste of D.C.

I f you enjoyed last month’s Taste of Falls Church, this weekend is going to be a real treat. For the first time since 2003, the streets of the District will be lined up for the Taste of D.C. This Saturday through Monday, more than 60 restaurants will be dishing out tastes and more on Pennsylvania Avenue all day long. And while chances are you’ll be enjoying the food at your leisure, a select group if attedees will be eating at a decidedly quicker pace.

Yup, also on tap at the Taste of D.C. will be the World Chili Eating Championship, a two-day event featuring both amateurs and Major League Eating stars. The Ben’s Chili Bowl presented showdown will feature hot dog eating champ Joey Chestnut, Alexandria-native Sonya Thomas, Eater X, the Notorious B.O.B and many more.

And in addition to all the food and chili scarfing, there will be beer, wine, a slew of concerts and probably more than a few bellyaches.

What: Taste of D.C.

When: Saturday, October 8 – Monday, October 10

Where: Pennsylvania Ave., Washington D.C.
