Gardner Calls on City Staff to Explain Controversial Police Action at Eden Center

Falls Church City Council member Robin Gardner made a formal request of the Falls Church City staff to provide a report on “what caused what happened to happen” at the predominantly Vietnamese-American Eden Shopping Center in August that led to 19 citations for illegal gambling, a spate of which have already been dismissed in court.

“This story isn’t over,” she said, noting that as another group of persons cited in the August raid by the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force are due in court later this week. She noted that another demonstration of Vietnamese-American leaders is scheduled to be held in the F.C. City Hall parking lot to protest the citations.
