National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists Announced

Today officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 57th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, several of whom are from Falls Church. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million that will be offered next spring.

Semifinalists are Cornelio Rivera, a home-schooled student; Elizabeth A. Culbertson, Jonathan Gracia and Brian J. Potter from George C. Marshall High School; Matthew J. Irvine, Michael J. Irvine, Zeev M. Lailari, Marshall F. Richards and Mikhail J. Terman from George Mason High School; and Andrew Kress from Trinity School at Meadow View.
