At 5:30 p.m. EDT today a male bicyclist was reportedly struck by a sedan driving eastbound on Great Falls St. in the City of Falls Church at the point where the W&OD Bike Trail crosses Great Falls. The young man was attended to by emergency personnel, who arrived quickly on the scene, and he was placed on a stretcher to be transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. He appeared to remain conscious with a visible scar on his face. The sedan was parked at the scene while Falls Church police cordoned off the area and began interviewing witnesses.
