Car owners who are looking for some old-time TLC for their rides have chosen Smokey’s Garage as their go-to service center.

This newcomer to the Best of Falls Church list – and relative newcomer to the area, having opened up shop just two and a half years ago – takes after the gas stations of the 50s and 60s, friendly neighborhood spots where customers could swing on by for anything from a tire pressure check to a full work-up, according to General Manager Mark Devine.

“You can drop by and ask a question, and we go out and look at the car. It’s just personal service,” Devine said. “All of our customers are neighbors and we all have cars, so it’s just a matter of trying to take care of them.”

Devine, along with three other technicians, are auto hobbyists with interests ranging from classic car restoration to racing, and are eager to talk shop over coffee with anyone who stops by.
“We enjoy cars, over and above just as a way of making a living,” Devine said.

With $25 oil changes and free 21-point inspections, among other services, this Broad Street garage has what ailing cars need to get back on the street.
