Virginia Commerce Bank is hosting a diaper drive to help low income households struggling to purchase diapers for their infants and toddlers.
Infants need up to 12 diapers per day while toddlers need about eight which, for one child, can cost more than $100 a month. According to The Diaper Bank, because of the costs, infants in low income households often spend a day or more in a single diaper which increases their risk of health problems and, because of the crying, puts them at a higher risk for abuse.
Diapers can be dropped off at Virginia Commerce Bank’s Falls Church branch at 7115 Leesburg Pike until September 10.
