Mason Student’s Winning Bag Design Hits Giant Shelves

giantGiant Food sponsored a reusable shopping bag design contest last fall to celebrate It’s Academic’s 50th anniversary. The contest was open to local high school students in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and more than 250 entries were received. One student from Northern Virginia was chosen as the grand prize winner. The winning entry was designed by Worachet Boon Sakprayoonpong, a rising senior at George Mason High School.

Giant honored Boon’s achievement last week with a launch party and ice cream social at the Falls Church Giant Food. Susan Altman, producer of It’s Academic, Principal Tyrone Byrd of George Mason High School, friends, family and Giant Food associates and shoppers joined together to celebrate Boon’s bags hitting Giant shelves.
