Fairfax County Seeks Volunteers, Offers Phone Support Groups

Fairfax County needs volunteers to transport older residents to medical appointments. Also, there is an urgent need for Meals on Wheels volunteers in the McLean, Springfield and Reston/Herndon areas.

Those interested can contact 703-324-5406 or visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dfs/olderadultservices/ and click on Volunteers for more informaiton.

Additionally, Fairfax County invite Korean speakers who provide care for an older adult in Fairfax County to join the Korean-speaking telephone support group on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 5 – 6 p.m.

Fairfax County will also offer a free telephone support group for Fairfax County caregivers of older adults on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 7 – 8 p.m. Those wishing to register can visit www.fairfaxcounty.gov/dfs/olderadultservices and click on Caregiver or call 703-324-5484.
