The City of Falls Church Democratic Party Primary Election will be held on August 23, 2011. On the ballot will be two candidates for Commonwealth’s Attorney. As is required by §24.2-416 of the Code of Virginia, registration books close on August 1, 2011. Registration applications are accepted as meeting the deadline if they are received by the Office of Voter Registration & Elections by, or USPS postmarked by, August 1, 2011. All citizens who will be 18 years old on or before November 8, 2011 are eligible to vote in this election (this means some 17 year old citizens will be able to vote in this Democratic Party Primary Election as long as they are 18 years old by Nov 8, 2011, the date of the General Election, and registered to vote). On Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the Oak Room of City Hall, 300 Park Avenue, the Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) will hold a public hearing to consider the following application: 610 Fulton Avenue by ASR Designer Homes, LLC, to open the enclosed porch on the left side of the house; to repair/replace windows and doors, as necessary; to repair/replace missing shutters; to repair/replace porch columns; to replace missing wood railings on the first floor; to replace missing wood railings/posts on the upper level porch; and to repair/replace roof shingles, as necessary. The structure was vacant for many years and needs major repairs throughout. The replacement of missing/decayed exterior architectural features will match the original material, size, and detail as much as possible.
