Police Investigate Merrifield Bank Robbery

Police are on the lookout for one of two suspects in the robbery of BB&T Bank on Route 50 in Merrifield Monday.

Police say two men entered the bank at 8416 Arlington Boulevard around 2 p.m. Monday, June 27. One suspect displayed a gun and demanded money. Both suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.

One of the suspects has been identified as 38-year-old William L. Cole, of Fort Washington, Maryland. Cole has been arrested by Prince George’s County Police and awaits extradition to Fairfax County.

The second suspect was described as black, medium build and wearing a light colored shirt with blue jeans. He may have dreadlocks or may have been wearing a wig.
