City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for June 7-13, 2011
Larceny from Building, 500 block Roosevelt Blvd. On Jun. 7, 2:17 a.m., officers responded to the victim’s residence for a burglary in progress. An unknown suspect left the scene with a stolen bicycle which was taken from the balcony. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a dark colored top with a possibly closely shaved or balding head.
Malicious Wounding, Assault & Battery, and Public Drunkenness, 201 S. Washington St. (7-Eleven) On Jun.7 2:28 a.m., officers responded to a fight in progress. During the course of the fight, one victim had a large portion of his ear bitten off and was bleeding heavily. He was transported to a local hospital. The other victim suffered minor injury. A male, 23, of the City of Falls Church, was charged with Malicious Wounding and Drunk in Public. A male, 21, of Arlington, was charged with Assault and Battery and Drunk in Public.
Stolen Vehicle, 100 block Haycock Rd. On Jun. 7, 6:45 a.m., the victim’s vehicle was reported stolen and was last seen on Jun 6. at 10 p.m. The vehicle was recovered in Suitland, MD on Jun. 10.
Larceny from Vehicle, 429 S. Maple Ave. (Better Lawn Service) On Jun. 7, 7:12 a.m., an unknown suspect took several pieces of equipment by forcing the rear door of the vehicle to open. The victim reported the theft occurred sometime overnight.
Auto Tampering, 100 block Birch St. On Jun. 7, 11:11 a.m., an unknown suspect tampered the ignition to the victim’s vehicle sometime overnight.
Public Drunkenness, 116-B W. Broad St. (Unity Club) On Jun. 7, 9:21 pm., officers responded to the location for a report of a disorderly individual. A male, 45, of Centreville, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Larceny from Building, 115 Hillwood Ave. #10 (Anime Pavilion) On Jun. 8, 6:14 p.m., the victim business reported four game cards were stolen from a display case between Jun. 4 and 5.
Destruction of Property, 435 S. Washington St. (Coleman Powersports) On Jun. 8, 11:11 p.m., an unknown suspect shattered two plate glass windows of an occupied building at 10:30 p.m.
Narcotic Violation and Driving With a Suspended License, 300 block S. Washington St. On Jun. 9, 12:05 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. A male, 23, of Falls Church, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Driving with a Suspended License.
Larceny from Building, 7124 Leesburg Pike (George Mason High School) On Jun. 9, 1:39 p.m., the victim reported cash was stolen from a wallet left unattended and unsecured in a classroom.
Larceny from Vehicle, 1117 W. Broad St. (Don Beyer Volvo) On Jun. 9, 6:46 p.m., the victim reported a toolbox was removed from an unsecured vehicle.
Larceny from Building, 6763-R1 Wilson Blvd. (Planet Fitness) On Jun. 9, 8:43 p.m., three victims reported various items stolen after locks were cut on their lockers.
Public Drunkenness, 300 block Douglas Ave. On Jun. 9, 11:10 p.m., a male, 50, of Falls Church, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Public Drunkenness and Failure to Appear, 100 block N. Maple Ave. On Jun. 11, 2:18 a.m., A male, 45, of Washington, DC, was arrested for Public Drunkenness. The suspect was also served a warrant for Failure to Appear in Arlington County Court.
Narcotic Violation, 310 Park Ave. (Cherry Hill Park) On Jun. 11, 3:07 p.m., a male, 49, of Ft. Washington, MD, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
Counterfeiting, 400 S. Washington St. (Carina’s Clothing Store) On Jun. 11, 9:41 p.m., the victim business received a counterfeit $100 bill during a transaction. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male; 5′ 10″ tall, weighed 230 pounds, and wore jeans, a light blue shirt and glasses.
Public Drunkenness, 917 W. Broad St. (El Zunzal Restaurant) On Jun. 11, 11:08 p.m., a male, 37, of Annandale, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Larceny from Building, 300 block S. Virginia Ave. On Jun. 12, 1:09 p.m. the victim reported various items were stolen from the residence on Jun. 7.
Destruction of Property, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #17 (Hoa Vien Quan) On Jun 13, 2:08 a.m., officers responded to the area for a report of a fight. The fight resulted in a broken glass door in the restaurant. The investigation is ongoing.
Destruction of Property, 400 block Park Ave. On Jun. 13, 10:31 a.m., the gear shift knob to the victim’s parked vehicle was damaged. The incident occurred on Jun 11.
