Briana was a late bloomer by volleyball standards, starting her career as a sophomore. This is especially significant in a sport where most college bound players are playing year-around by the time they enter high school. After being lured onto the court and encouraged to attend tryouts, Briana blossomed under the coaching of Pete Mathis, then J.E.B. Stuart JV coach. It wasn’t long before she was hooked on the game. In the three years that Briana has been a member of the Raider’s program the team has improved its win/loss record each year and this year Briana
led the team to a second place finish and Regional playoff berth.

Briana has played Junior Olympic volleyball in the Chesapeake Region for NOVA, coached by Marymount University assistant coach, Victor Troyan. She plans to pursue a degree in elementary education while attending Bowie State.
