City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for May 24-30, 2011
Assault and Battery, 7124 Leesburg Pike, (George Mason High School) On May 24, 10:20 a.m., an officer responded to the school for a report of an assault. After an investigation, police arrested a male, 18, of the City of Falls Church, for Assault and Battery.
Shoplifting, 6607 Wilson Blvd. (BJ’s Wholesale) On May 24, the victim business reported a television set was stolen on Apr. 23 and another set was stolen on May 2. The suspect is reported to possibly be in his mid to late 40`s, with a medium build and thick, dark mustache He is approximately 5`8″ to 6`0″ tall, with dark short hair. The suspect appeared to have a receding hairline and bald on the top of his head.
Shoplifting, 1150 and 1230 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy and Giant Foods) On May 24, 1:23 p.m., officers responded to 1150 W Broad St. for a report of shoplifting which had just occurred. An officer found the suspect near the store. $201.40 worth of merchandise was stolen from CVS Pharmacy. During the investigation, officers discovered the suspect stole $242.97 worth of merchandise from Giant Foods the same day. A male, 68, no fixed address was arrested for two counts of Felony Shoplifting.
Public Drunkenness, 1100 block Seaton Ln. On May 25, 4:40 a.m., police responded to a residence for a report of an unknown intoxicated man on the property.A male, 23, of Alexandria, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Smoking in a Non-Designated Area, 6793 Wilson Blvd. (Tay Do) On May 26, 12:20 a.m., an officer observed a patron smoking tobacco products in the restaurant. A male, 43, of Falls Church, was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area.
Urinating In Public, 100 block S. West St. On May 26, 8:18 p.m., an officer observed a man urinating in public view. A male, 37, of Marshall, VA, was arrested for Urinating In Public.
Assault and Battery, 6793-A Wilson Blvd. (Thanh Son Tofu) On May 27, 1:39 p.m., police responded to the store for a report of a fight. The victim received injury to the face. The suspect left the area before police arrival. A warrant has been issued for the suspect.
Public Drunkenness, 201 N. Washington St. (Kaiser Permanente) On May 27, 3:46 p.m., police responded to the location for a report of an intoxicated man sleeping in the parking lot. A male, 62, no fixed address was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Smoking in a Non-Designated Area and Permitting Smoking Where Prohibited, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #20 (Pho Bien) On May 27, 11:08 p.m., an officer observed a patron smoking tobacco products in the restaurant and the restaurant’s manager permitted the smoking. A male, 47, of Chantilly, was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area. The manager, A male, 29, of Falls Church, was arrested for Permitting Smoking Where Prohibited.
Public Drunkenness, 500 block N. Washington St. On May 27, 11:59 p.m., police responded to the location for a report of an intoxicated passenger assaulting a taxi driver. Prosecution was declined and a male, 33, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Larceny from Vehicle, 100 block W. Greenway Blvd. On May 28, 1:26 a.m., police responded to a residence for a report of two juveniles trespassing in the victim’s vehicle in progress. The two juveniles were able to flee the scene. Personal property was stolen from the vehicle.
Violation of Protection Order, 1100 block W. Broad St. On May 29, 12:52 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. During the traffic stop, the driver, a male, 36, of the City of Falls Church, was in violation of the protection order. The suspect was arrested for a Violation of a Protection Order.
Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. On May 28, 2:32 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. A male, 30, of Baltimore, MD, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and for Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test..
Narcotics Violation, 100 W. Greenway Blvd. On May 29, 10:09 p.m., a male, of the City of Falls Church, 31, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
Stolen Vehicle, 400 block Sherrow Ave., On May 30, 12:41 a.m., the victim’s vehicle was reported stolen sometime after 10:00 p.m. on May 29 after the victim learned the vehicle was involved in a hit and run accident.
Graffiti, 1000 block W. Broad St. On May 30, 7:00 a.m., an officer observed blue spray paint lettering on the southwest retaining wall of the W&OD trail bridge.
