City of Falls Church, Crime Report for May 3 – 9, 2011
Larceny from Building, 100 Hillwood Ave. (Hillwood Mart) On May 3, 1:25 p.m., the victim business reported a male pumped $40.01 worth of gasoline into his vehicle without paying. Investigation by officers of similar cases led to the arrest of a male, 30, of Fairfax for two counts of Petit Larceny.
Driving Under the Influence, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. On May 4, 1:07 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a female, 37, of Annandale, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Simple Assault, 1003 W Broad St (Rite-Aid) On May 4, 4:45 p.m., the taxi driver called for police to report a passenger failing to pay for a cab fare. The passenger reported an assault by a taxi driver while in a customer dispute.
Solicitation Without a Permit, 300 block Pennsylvania Ave. On May 4, 7:48 p.m., an officer responded to the area for a report of a magazine solicitor without a permit. A female, 18, of College Park, MD, was arrested for Solicitation Without a Permit.
Credit Card Fraud, 300 block Shirley St. On May 5, 6:10 p.m., the victim reported credit card numbers were fraudulently being used on Apr. 23 and May 4.
Graffiti, 200 block S. Washington St. On May 6, 7:26 p.m., an officer observed graffiti with white lettering on a steel support beam.
Graffiti, 200 block S. Washington St. On May 6, 7:47 p.m., an officer observed stickers posted on the traffic signal control box.
Narcotics Violation and Littering, 917 W. Broad St. (El Zunzal Restaurant) On May 7, 1:22 a.m., an officer observed suspicious activity in the restaurant’s parking lot. A male, 41, of Falls Church, was arrested for Possession of Cocaine. A male, 35, of Rockville, MD, was arrested for Littering.
Larceny from Building, 6623 Wilson Blvd. (Shell Convenience Store) On May 7, 12:38 p.m., the victim business reported a black female approximately 60-70 years old pumped $26.36 worth of gasoline into her vehicle and left the store after only paying $5.10.
Public Drunkenness, 1230 W. Broad St (Giant Foods) On May 7, 10:33 p.m., a male, 45, of Centreville, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Driving Under the Influence, 100 block N. Maple Ave. On May 8, 12:53 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a male, 38, of Centreville, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
Drinking In Public, 300 block W. Broad St. On May 8, 4:01 a.m., an officer observed a man drinking an alcoholic beverage in public. A male, 44, no fixed address, was arrested for Drinking In Public.
Urinating In Public, 6763 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On May 8, 10:38 p.m., an officer observed two individuals urinating in the parking lot. A male, 37, of Gwynn Oak, MD; and a male, 19, of Cordova, TN, were arrested for Urinating In Public.
Smoking in a Non-Designated Area, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #20 (Pho Bien) On May 8, 11:21 p.m., officers observed a male, 47, of Annandale, smoking tobacco products in the restaurant. Mr. Nguyen was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area.
Aggravated Assault, 6757 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On May 9, 12:33 a.m., officers responded to the area for a report of a fight involving a female and two males. The investigation is ongoing.
Larceny from Vehicle, 134 W. Broad St. (CVS Store) On May 9, 10:00 a.m., the victim reported an oxygen tank was stolen from his vehicle sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. on May 6. The victim noticed the tank was stolen after traveling from the hospital to CVS and other locations. The vehicle was unsecure at the time of theft.
Public Drunkenness, 344 W. Broad St. (Starbucks) On May 9, 12:23 p.m., an officer responded to the restaurant for a report of a disorderly individual outside of the restaurant. The intoxicated individual,a male, 54, no fixed address, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Credit Card Fraud, 300 block Shirley St. On May 9, 7:34 p.m., the victim reported a credit card number was fraudulently being used.
Underage Possession of Alcohol, 400 block S. Maple Ave. On May 10, 7:58 p.m., an officer observed an open container of alcohol in an occupied vehicle. A male, 18, of Falls Church, was arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol.
