F.C. League of Women Voters’ Forum On F.C. School Enrollment Growth

The Falls Church League of Women Voters held an informational forum last night on the international political instability factors, especially in the Middle East, that has led to a surge in enrollment in the highly-acclaimed Falls Church City School System in the first months of 2011.

The forum featured the comments of a family who fled the region to come to the U.S., encouraged by the U.S. State Department to locate in Falls Church because of the quality of the school system here. In January, over 30 new students enrolled at George Mason High School alone that can be directly linked to the Middle East turmoil. A full report on the event will be published in next week’s print edition of the News-Press.
