Police Stations Serve as Flag Collection Points

According to federal law, the United States flag is to be “properly and ceremoniously disposed of when damaged or soiled and no longer suitable for display.” In a new Fairfax Police Department Honor Guard, Fairfax County Police stations are now accepting worn flags in bins located in their front lobby areas.

According to federal law, the United States flag is to be “properly and ceremoniously disposed of when damaged or soiled and no longer suitable for display.” In a new Fairfax Police Department Honor Guard, Fairfax County Police stations are now accepting worn flags in bins located in their front lobby areas.
