F.C. School Teams Take Part in NoVa History Day Competition

Students from George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School took part in the Northern Virginia History Day competition last weekend.

Jack Ulses, Vincent Camacho and David McAllister placed first in Senior Group Documentary. Poorva Arora placed first in Senior Research Paper. Fae Montgomery and Honora Overby placed first in the Senior Group Performance. Rebecca Sarfati placed second in Senior Individual Documentary. Jessica Kemp and Alissa Forbes placed second in Senior Group Exhibit. Elinore McLain placed second in Senior Individual Research Paper. Sarah Gompper and Noelle Darling placed second in Senior Group Website.

In the junior division, second place went to Thomas Beddow with an historical paper on the Nuremberg Trials. Second place went to Cole Casteel and Jack Hennessey for a group website on Prohibition. Arijeet Sensharma, Sam Selby, George deMars and Jackson DuBro also brought home a second-place honor. Annie Parnell and Hannah Hiscott earned third place for a group website on the Vietnam War.
