Two members of the George Mason High School girls basketball team and one member of the boys squad were recognized for their outstanding play this season by the Virginia High School Coaches Association.

Mason sophomore Stephanie Cheney was named to the 2010-11 Group A Girls All-State 1st Team and freshman Ashely Alexander received an honorable mention. Junior Nate Ogle received an All-State honoral mention for the boys.

Cheney and Alexander led the Lady Mustangs to the semifinals of the Virginia High School League state tournament earlier this month where they were defeated by the eventual state champions, Radford High School. Ogle led the Mason boys to the state semis where they lost to James River.
