The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia will offer a workshop on the biodiversity of the Potomac Gorge.
Mary Travaglini from The Nature Conservancy will give a lecture and lead a walk to discover how rare plant communities, geology, and the flooding of the Potomac River combine to create the ecological treasure.
The event will take place Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. starting at the auditorium at Great Falls Park, 9200 Old Dominion Drive, McLean. The cost is $10 for ASNV members and $15 for non-members. There is a park $5 car entrance fee. To register, contact the Audubon Society at info@audubonva.org or 703-438-6008.
