Man Sentenced to Death for F.C. Area Murder

Mark Lawlor, 45, the man who was convicted in January for the September 2008 bludgeoning death of 29-year-old Genevieve Orange in her Culmore apartment, received the death penalty from a Fairfax County jury yesterday, the News-Press has learned.

Lawlor will be formally sentenced by the Fairfax judge on June 9, and the judge will have the discretion to reduce the penalty to life in prison without parole at that time.
