Local Dining Delights to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Love is in the air, and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.There are several different ways to celebrate. You can surprise your loved one by preparing a great meal, followed by a nice movie. You can always go for the traditional chocolate and flowers. Some couples like to be original, and try something completely out of their routine. Whether you want to keep it simple, or innovate in this year’s celebration, the date asks for a romantic dinner for two. If you don’t want to spend time cooking- and cleaning after all the mess is done, here are a few options for you.

2941 Restaurant, located at 2941 Fairview Park Drive, Falls Church, is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special five-course menu offered from Feb. 11 through Feb. 14. Argia’s, located at 124 N. Washington St., Falls Church, will offer a three-course prix-fix dinner for $35.99, which will be offered with wine pairings for $49.99. The special is offered from Feb. 11 until Feb. 14. The primi piatti includes house-cured duck confit salad with maytag bleu cheese, haricot verts and port vinaigrette, or wild mushroom soup with hazelnut gremolata. The secondi features lobster ravioli served with roasted lobster-cream sauce, or seared sea scallops served with marinated red onions, celery root mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and white truffle vinaigrette, or Osso Buco Milanese served with saffron risotto and gremolata. La Côte D’Or Café, located at 6876 Lee Highway, Airlington, will be offering bisque d’ecrevisse, salmon in love with grey sol, petit filet mignon lulullus, duo de profiterolle et, and le jeu de pomme. The menu is for Friday, Feb. 11, and costs $42.50 per person. Roosevelt Smith will be playing the piano during dinner. Natalia’s Elegant Creations, located at 230 W. Broad St., Falls Church, will be offering an afternoon tea at 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. They usually don’t open on Mondays, but they will be open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Feb. 14. For more information, call 703-241-8040.

Fleming’s, located at 1960 A Chain Bridge Road, McLean, is having a special menu for two from Feb. 11 until Feb. 14. The price range is from $89.95 – $98.95 for two. Those who make a reservation early can receive a Valentine’s card worth $25 for a future purchase at the restaurant. Clyde’s of Tyson’s Corner, located at 8332 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, will offer a Saturday brunch on Feb. 12 where mothers can eat for free. On Sunday, half-price wine and champagne will be available until 9 p.m. A strolling violinist will be performing on Valentine’s Day to set the mood. Ireland’s Four Provinces, located at 105 W. Broad St., Falls Church, will offer a special three-meal course for $28.95 from Friday through Monday to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The appetizers are tomato crab bisque or classic caesar salad. The entrees are surf and turf, eight-ounce filet mignon with a burgundy reduction, grilled shrimp skewer, potato au-gratin and grilled asparagus or fresh corvine, fresh filet of corvina with saffron and chive sauce, roasted baby potatoes, spinach, and parsnip puree, or Irish stuffed chicken, mushroom marsala sauce, potato au-gratin, and fresh asparagus. For those looking for a bit of a different dining experience, Open Kitchen is having an event called “Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus: Beer & BBQ; Chocolate & Wine Tasting Event” on Feb. 13 at noon. It costs $45 per person.
