The fifth annual Falls Church Relay For Life will kick off Saturday, Feb. 5, from 4 – 6 p.m. in the cafetorium of Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School.

Relay For Life provides a way for local residents, including young people, to come together in teams to raise funds and awareness for the battle to fight cancer. Last year’s event raised more than $105,000 to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against the disease.

The kickoff event will feature food, music and more information about the 2011 relay, which will be held the night of Saturday, June 4, on the field at George Mason High School. The kickoff event is designed to help recruit interested teams as well as persons interested in volunteering in other ways. The kickoff will also feature a reunion of members of the cast of George Mason High School’s recent production of “Les Miserables,” reprising some of the songs from that show.

For more information, contact co-chairs Katie Clinton (clintonk@fccps.org) or Terri Rollo (jrollo1@starpower.net). To start a team, visit fallschurchrelay.org.
