The Old Firehouse Teen Center, a satellite program of the McLean Community Center, is now participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award Program. As a Certifying Organization, OFTC is able to verify the community service performed at the center and distribute the award. The center is located at 1440 Chain Bridge Road.

In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation was established to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making in U.S. communities and abroad and to encourage more people to serve. The council created the President’s Volunteer Service Award Program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service

OFTC members who have participated in community service activities at the center since September 2010 are eligible for this year’s award.
