A Falls Church house caught fire Sunday night.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded at around 7 p.m. to the house on the 3200 block of Wayne Road. According to reports, firefighters saw smoke and fire coming from behind the house. It was determined the fire began on the back porch and spread into the attic. After 15 minutes of fighting the blaze, firefighters were able to control the fire, which was primarily contained in the rear of the house.

Four adults were home at the time of the fire and managed to escape safely. No one was injured.

Damages to the house are estimated at $60,000.

Fire investigators said that the fire, which was deemed accidental, was caused by a heating lamp set too close to combustible items on the back porch.
