In searching for the next Falls Church City Superintendent of Schools, the school board conducted a recently concluded FCCPS Superintendent Search Criteria Survey and received more than 550 responses from Falls Church parents, school employees and community members. The Falls Church School Board requested the polling as it continues its national search for a successor to Superintendent Lois F. Berlin who will retire at the end of June 2011.

“We are grateful for the strong response and interest in this important work,” said school board chair Joan Wodiska. “This wealth of feedback will be extremely useful as we go about the process of selecting a new superintendent.”

Applications for the position are being submitted to the Virginia School Boards Association by interested candidates through Jan. 7. The VSBA is assisting the Falls Church school board with the vetting process.
