Goodwill Industries is hosting a grand opening on Saturday, October 30 for its new store at 2936 Annandale Road, the former location of Chili’s. The event will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. that will include 38th District Virginia Delegate Kaye Kory, Goodwill of Greater Washington President & CEO Catherine Meloy, and former NFL player and Goodwill supporter Vernand Morency. Activities such as a raffle for sports memorabilia, a moon bounce, free hot dogs and sodas (while supplies last), face painting, balloon animal making, scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, music, prizes and free trick or treat bags for the first 250 kids will continue until 2 p.m.
The store, opening thanks to a generous $150,000 gift from Capital One, will also be accepting donations all day at the donation center behind the store.
