‘Stangs Look To Rebound Friday at Homecoming

Hoping to get back on a winning track, the George Mason High School football team plays its Homecoming game Friday night against Central High School of Woodstock. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The Mustangs and the Falcons both come into the contest with 1-3 records.

Last week Mason fell to the Colonial Beach Drifters. After two-plus hours on the road in Friday’s record-setting heat, the Mustangs emerged from their school bus looking limp and quickly let the game get out of hand.

Following the halftime break, Mason showed more life, and late in the 3rd quarter the Mustangs managed a sustained drive that junior Nico De Ocampo capped with a 3-yard touchdown run. The final was 33-6.
