FCVS Announces September Weekend Getaway

The Falls Church Victorian Society (FCVS) announced a group weekend trip for Sept. 10 – 12 with sign-ups ending Aug. 28.

The Falls Church Victorian Society (FCVS) announced a group weekend trip for Sept. 10 – 12 with sign-ups ending Aug. 28. The society will take a trip to Stratford Hall (483 Great House Rd., Stratford), the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. Overnight accommodations will be at one of two guest houses on the property at a special rate of $113.40 and reservations must be made apart from the society. Call 1-804-493-8038 and ask for Leslie.

Events on the trip include a docent led tour of the Straford Hill Plantation, gristmill, a walk to the Potomac River for fossil discoveries, a tour of the millionaire row of Victorian homes in Reedville, an antique classic boat parade on the water and a special-led tour by the owner of the Ingleside Plantation of his historic homes that are not publicly open, followed by a $5 special wine tasting.
