Free Clinic for Uninsured Set in D.C. Aug. 4

The National Association of Free Clinics will conduct a massive free clinic to provide tests, including free HIV/AIDS tests, medical exams, physicals and other services to uninsured residents of the region next Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mt. Vernon Place NW, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Patients are advised to call 1-877-233-5159 to make appointments. Services offered at the free clinic include medical exams, EKGs, cholesterol blood tests, glucose tests for diabetes, blood pressure tests, muscular skeletal exams, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, hemoglobin tests and strep tests. In addition, there will be mental health services and pharmacy counseling. Providers will write prescriptions that conform to the generic programs offered by many drug stores.
