Photo Red Light Cameras Go Live in Arlington

Red light cameras in place for the past month throughout Arlington will begin issuing tickets at midnight on Wednesday, July 21, the Arlington County Police Department announced today.

Red light cameras in place for the past month throughout Arlington will begin issuing tickets at midnight on Wednesday, July 21, the Arlington County Police Department announced today.

Under the PhotoRED program, motorists caught running a red light will be issued a $50 fine, but the infraction is treated as a civil offense, such as a parking ticket, and will not go on the offender’s driving record.

Signs are posted within 500 feet of the intersections where the PhotoRED cameras are installed.

The intersections that are monitored by red light cameras are below.

• Northbound North Lynn Street at Eastbound Lee Highway

* Southbound Ft. Myer Drive at westbound Lee Highway

* Northbound North Glebe Road at Fairfax Drive

• Northbound Washington Boulevard at Lee Highway
