9-10 F.C. All-Stars Split with Arlington National

On Friday, June 25, the 9-10 Falls Church Kiwanis Little League All Stars took on Arlington National on Friday night for their first game of the District IV Tournament. Despite a late, two-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning by Falls Church,  Arlington held on to win 4-3.

Falls Church pitchers Henry Middlebrook and Demitri Gamble combined for eight strikeouts while Joey Handley led the offense with a triple and two RBIs. Craig Fischer and David Miller also had hits, and Paul Pacheco reached base in the bottom of the sixth to keep a two-out rally alive. Arlington National pitchers Dylan Anderson, Austin Stuart, and David Baron combined for a strong six-inning performance on the mound.

On Saturday, June 26, F.C. All-Stars got one back, defeating Arlington American 6-5. F.C. pitcher David Miller needed only 29 pitches in relief of starter Joey Handley to get the win. Joseph Lampman pitched the sixth to get the save.

Arlington staged a late comeback behind the strong hitting of Carson Chircop who had a triple and two RBIs and the pitching of Mac Mulock and Jordan Anderson. Henry Middlebrook led FC Red hitters with three hits and Ben Freeman drove in the game-winning run with a triple. Speedy Brendan Fletchall scored the tying run, and Neil Menon and Demitri Gamble also had key hits for Falls Church.
