Giant Bonus Bucks Nets $10k for F.C. City Schools

More than 760 people linked their grocery cards to a Falls Church City Public School in the Giant Bonus Bucks program, netting a windfall of more than $10,000 during the past school year.

More than 760 people linked their grocery cards to a Falls Church City Public School in the Giant Bonus Bucks program, netting a windfall of more than $10,000 during the past school year.

The number of cards linked to each school was 279 for George Mason High School raising $4,855, 188 for Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School raising $2,150, 167 for Thomas Jefferson Elementary School raising $1,798, and 132 for Mt. Daniel raising $1,566. There were a total of 766 cards linked to F.C. City Schools, racking up a grand total of $10,369.

Giant’s contribution is more than double that of the 2008-09 school year. The City Schools thank all who participated in the program and to Giant for donating a portion of all grocery sales to the customer’s designated school.
