Due to budget cuts which reduced staff, the Mary Riley Styles Public Library in Falls Church will be closed on Sundays beginning in July.
The library hours for the rest of the week will remain the same – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. But the operating hours of the Local History Room will be reduced down to 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Other library budget cuts include cancellation of 15 magazine subscriptions, four electronic databases and a reduction in the purchase of other new materials.
The Library Board of Trustees is accepting cash donations to help support the library, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library Foundation Trust is accepting tax deductible gifts. For details about library budget cuts, visit the library at 120 N. Virginia Avenue in Falls Church or view the library website at www.fallschurchva.gov/library.
