The George Mason High School girls soccer team won the Virginia state title for the third straight year, knocking off Radford, 3-1, in the championship game today. Hannah Walker scored twice and Leah Roth had one tally for the 2010 Virginia State Champion Lady Mustangs.

Mustang coach Jennifer Parsons raved about her team’s performance in the championship and through the entire season. “I think that the championship game was very similar to our season as a whole – we had a bumpy start and learned a lot from our mistakes. We steadily grew better every day, just as we did with each minute in the championship game. As soon as we found some success and gained a little confidence, we proved that we were unbeatable. I am so proud to be part of this program and I’m very proud of each and every girl on this team, I think they really deserved everything they earned this season and I’m so happy for them!” Parsons said.
