Pizzeria Orso Now Open in F.C.
Pizzeria Orso has opened at 400 S. Maple Avenue in Falls Church. The new 117-seat restaurant has been developed by the team behind 2941 and is run by Edan and Thea MacQuaid. The restaurant, which features a handmade volcanic brick oven from Naples, Italy, specializes in traditional Neapolitan pizzas, a selection of antipasti, house-made salami and traditional desserts.

The restaurant, which features a handmade volcanic brick oven from Naples, Italy, specializes in traditional Neapolitan pizzas, a selection of antipasti, house-made salami and traditional desserts.
The pizza dough is naturally leavened, never refrigerated, and baked at approximately 800 °F for 90 seconds. Edan MacQuaid, a trained pizzaiolo, has cooked at 2Amys, Pizzeria Paradiso, and Red Rocks. He was highlighted in the pizza book Pizza: A Slice of Heaven by Ed Levine as “the best pizza guy on the East Coast.” Thea MacQuaid will head the restaurant’s wine and beverage program which features Italian wines from Campagna and Sicily such as Grotta del Sole’s Gragnano, the Neapolitan fizzy red pizza wine, and San Marzano’s Negroamaro, as well as a number of craft beers. Carryout Now Available at Pita Wraps
Pita Wraps has opened the carryout portion of the new family friendly Lebanese restaurant in Falls Church’s West End Plaza. The restaurant is owned and operated by Ezzat Zein, a successful restaurateur best known for Samadi Sweets in Bailey’s Crossroads from 1987 to 1997 and his LaPita food court restaurants in Tysons I and Tysons II in the years since. The full dinning room is expected to open Monday, June 14. An ABC license is pending. Pita Wraps is in the space formerly occupied by Café Nessma at 1079 W. Broad Street in Falls Church.
Marketing Plans Headline Tuesday’s F.C. Chamber Luncheon
The Greater Falls Church Chamber of Commerce‘s June Networking Luncheon will feature a presentation on Developing an Effective Marketing Plan by Dale Little. Little is an experienced business strategist and volunteer with the Virginia Small Business Development Center in Springfield. The June luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. -1:15 p.m., Tuesday, June 15 at the Italian Café located at 7161 Lee Highway. Reserved tickets are $27 for members, $32 for nonmembers. New F.C. Chipotle Hosting Fundraiser June 24
The new Chipotle Mexican Grill in Falls Church is hosting a fundraising party on Thursday, June 24. From 5 – 8 p.m., in exchange for a $5 donation to the City of Falls Church’s Community Special Events, patrons will receive a burrito, chips & salsa and a soda. Founded by CEO Steve Wells, Chipotle offers unprocessed, seasonal, family-farmed, sustainable, nutritious, naturally raised, added hormone free, organic, and artisanal foods.
