PHOTOS: Creativity Galore at News-Press 2010 Wacky Hat Showdown!

jessicapavela2The 8th Annual Wacky Hat Showdown at the Falls Church Memorial Day Parade was a rousing success! A plethora of wacky, crazy and zany hats and their owners made their way to the News-Press booth Monday to show off their stuff. This year’s contest was the closest in the history of the Showdown as each entry was deserving of the Wacky Hat title.

The 8th Annual Wacky Hat Showdown at the Falls Church Memorial Day Parade was a rousing success! A plethora of wacky, crazy and zany hats and their owners made their way to the News-Press booth Monday to show off their stuff. This year’s contest was the closest in the history of the Showdown as each entry was deserving of the Wacky Hat title.

In the end, Jessica Pavela came out on top with her wacky masterpiece. Jessica Nunley came in second with her crazy lid and Matthew Stamilio placed third wearing his wild chapeau. In the adult division, Wacky Hat veteran Jorene Stull took the prize with her “Wedding in Cherry Hill” themed hat. Jessica Pavela and her wacky hat took the first place prize in the 2010 Wacky Hat Showdown. She received a $50 gift certificate to Falls Church’s Ledo Pizza.

Jessica Nunley’s creative chapeau won second place in this year’s Wacky Hat Showdown. She won a $50 gift certificate to Ireland’s Four Provinces in F.C.

Matthew Stamilio and his wild hat took 3rd place in the FCNP Wacky Hat Showdown and with it, a $50 gift certificate to F.C.’s Argia’s Restaurant.

 

Wacky Hat Adult Winner

Jorene Stull’s “Cherry Hill Wedding”-themed hat took first in the adult division. For her efforts, Jorene won a $25 gift certificate to Ledo Pizza.
