11th District GOP Primary Candidate Fimian Opposes Centreville Day Laborer Site

With less than a week before the 11th U.S. Congressional District GOP primary, candidate Keith Fimian issued a statement harshly opposing plans by a developer for a controversial structured day laborer site in Centreville. “It sends entirely the wrong message to people who have, in many cases, broken our laws to be here and invites a host of problems including increased potential for crime in the area,” he said in a press release.

He added, “We need to prevent the establishment of a day-laborer center in Centreville and defeat career politicians like (incumbent 11th District Congressman) Gerry Connolly who aid and abet law breaking.”

Fimiam also lashed out at his primary opponent in Tuesday’s election, Fairfax Supervisor Pat Herrity “who has not made his position on this issue publicly known,” adding that in the past, Herrity called “mean spirited” the effort by Prince William County to “enforce immigration laws.”
