George Mason High School’s baseball team beat Strasburg, 2-0, in a one game play-off Friday night to take the Bull Run District regular season title.
Two dozen Mason fans made the trek to the neutral site at Liberty High School for the Friday night game.
Mustang senior Brian Lubnow pitched four-hit shutout ball, striking out 10 and also driving in both runs with a second inning single.
Paul Weber and P.J. Anderson hit back-to-back singles in the second, before being driven in by Lubnow’s hit into left field.
With the win, Mason earns the top seed in the district tournament beginning next week and also receives an automatic bid to the regional tournament beginning May 31.
