Housing Permits ‘Uptick’ in F.C. In 1st Quarter Bucks Downward Trend

In what was described as a “significant uptick” by City of Falls Church Chief Financial Officer John Tuohy in his 2010 first quarter report to the City Council tonight, residential construction permit applications, including renovations and new structures, rose to 28. It was the lone bright spot in another dismal report on revenues from economic activity, although sales taxes derived during the December holiday season was “only slightly below the nine-year average.”
