Incident Comes 4 Days After 2-Year-Old Reston Boy Killed in Fall

A two-year-old girl fell from a third story apartment window in Falls Church Tuesday, the second case of a toddler falling from a window in the area in the past four days, Fairfax County Police reported in a press release today.

Officers responded to an apartment in the 3600 block of Barcroft View Terrace in Falls Church around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, after reports that a girl fell from a third story window while playing with siblings. She was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. There were no charges placed in the case.

This incident occurred in the wake of an incident in which a two-year-old boy died following injuries he suffered from a fall from a third story window in his Reston home on Saturday, April 10. Police responded to a residence in the 11000 block of Heritage Oak Court around 5:30 p.m. The boy had apparently leaned against the window screen when he fell. He was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police responded to the scene, investigated the incident, and preliminarily determined that no charges will be placed.
