(TO10-08) An Ordinance Fixing And Determining The Budget Of Expenditures And Revenues, Appropriating Funds For The Fiscal Year 2011: General Fund; School Operating Fund; School Community Service Fund; And School Food Service Fund; Water Revenue Fund And Sewer Revenue Fund And Approval Of The Capital Improvement Plan. The ordinance referenced below was given first reading on April 12, 2010. Second reading and final Council action will take place on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., Official Time, or as soon thereafter as may be heard. (TO10-07) Ordinance Setting The Rate Of Tax Levy On Real Estate, Personal Property, Machinery And Tools, And All Other Property Segregated By Law For Local Taxation In The City Of Falls Church, Virginia, For The Tax Year 2010. THE CITY OF FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA, HEREBY ORDAINS that the levy of taxes upon real estate, tangible property, machinery and tools used in manufacturing and mining, and all other property segregated by law for local taxation necessary to be levied for the tax year 2010 to meet such lawful charges against the City of Falls Church, Virginia, including debt service, and the purposes of public education, shall be and the same is fixed at the rate of One Dollar and Thirty Cents ($1.30) upon each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed value of real estate in the City of Falls Church and at the rate of Four Dollars and Seventy-one Cents ($4.71) upon each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed value on (a) tangible personal property, and (b) machinery and tools, and (c) all other property segregated by law for local taxation within the City, including the property separately classified by Section 58.1-3500 et seq. of the Code of Virginia except such personal property as is exempted; and except that pursuant to Section 58.1-2606 of the Code of Virginia, a portion of assessed value of tangible personal property of public service corporations shall be taxed at the real estate rate. Notices of upcoming budget work sessions for April 15 and 19 will be available at www.fallschurchva.gov.
